This is me playing Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil on Veteran Difficulty. I am using Sikkmod ROE 1.1, Monoxead's HR Textures and Wulfen Texture Pack. PLAYLIST: Special Note: I am using the Sikkmod 1.1 in the first video (part 1) but have altered it slightly for 'part 2' and later. I downloaded this alternate version of it: or check BUT!
I ONLY used pakmodfiles.pk4 from the alternate version and deleted the rest. This is the only file I replaced of the original 1.1 version. This is because I didn't like the gameplay changes by Sikkmod 1.1.
It makes the enemies too strong. For example, you can see me taking nearly 3 point blank shotgun shots to kill just one Imp in the first video.
And also, the Helltime Hunter takes forever to kill. It didn't make the fight any more challenging since it's as easy as ever. It only made it last 5 minutes longer due to giving the hunter stupid amounts of HP. Also, I didn't like the HUD that comes with the original mod version. The alternate version's 'pakmodfiles.pk4' gets rid of all those changes and restores vanilla gameplay.
So to put it simply - in order to reproduce what you see on my screen: -Install Sikkmod ROE 1.1 - -Install Monoxead's HR Textures - -Install Wulfen Texture Mod - -Then download and ONLY extract the 'pakmodfiles.pk4' and use it to replace the one in your 'sikkmodd3xp' folder. To install sikkmod, just read the readme. (Note that if you're using the Steam versions of the game, when it tells you to edit the shortcut, then you have to go to your steam games library, right click Doom 3 ROE, choose 'Set Launch Options' and write '+set fsgamebase d3xp +set fsgame sikkmodd3xp' without the quotation marks. In order to install texture mods, extract the files and place the folders such as 'materials', 'textures', etc. Into your /base/ folder in your Doom 3 directory. Alternatively, you can place them in the 'sikkmodd3xp' directory and/or your 'sikkmod' directory (depending if you also want them for the original Doom 3). Also, if you have an ATI card, it's best to install RadeonPro in order to disable Catalyst AI: Follow these instructions: (If you cant open xml files: make a txt file on your desktop and rename it to whatever.xml - say yes to changing extensions - and right click it, choose 'open with', select 'choose default program', and select notepad.
Now follow the instructions in the link again.) My settings are pretty simple, these are the only settings I changed: Bloom Settings: Bloom ON, Intensity 0.6 Colour Settings: Colour Grading ON HDR Settings: HDR ON, Dither ON, Glare Style: Vertical (Spectral), Glare Intensity 0.3 Game: Ambient Light ON, Blood Spray ON Everything else at default. Also, I have set: rgamma 1.1 rbrightness 1.1 rmode -1 rcustomwidth 1280 rcustomheight 720 raspect ratio 1 (aspect ratios are 0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = ) I normally play with 1920x1200 with aspect ratio 2 but have set it smaller to record in 720p. Enter these in the console (press the button left of 1 to access the console aka the 'tilde' key, or press ctrl+shift+` to access it, then type comallowconsole 1 to enable the tilde key) Please don't PM me for modding help, everything I know is from googling around.
So I'm kindly sharing it here to help others. If this doesn't help, then I probably don't know what's wrong. Video was recorded with Fraps and compressed in VirtualDubMod with the 'x264 vfw codec'. Motion Blur was added in post-processing with AViSynth and MVTools.
